Belgian supporters traveled extensive distances across North America to follow their team.
"The first game that we played here was also the first game in Seattle, so we came two days early, and nothing was alive," said Belgium fan Koen Naulaerts.
Naulaerts observed a massive shift in local energy by Monday's knockout match. "Oh, times 100."
He added that the atmosphere intensified significantly. "It booms."
Political Controversy
The match was preceded by political controversy. President Donald Trump intervened to overturn a suspension for U.

"Like the coach said, it's a bit of an American April Fools," said Belgium fan Evelien Van Bauwel.
"I just find it a bit sad that politics got involved with sports."
