The original 2013 release featured restrictive tailing missions that instantly failed if the player was detected.
Resynced removes these, replacing them with flexible objectives that allow multiple approaches to success.
Visual and Gameplay Enhancements
Dull environmental colors have been replaced with vibrant tropical palettes and improved lighting.
A new parrying mechanic has been added to combat, and expanded story chapters shift focus toward secondary characters like Blackbeard and the Jackdaw crew.

The narrative core remains the journey of Edward Kenway, who plays both sides of the Templar and Assassin conflict in the Caribbean.
The modern-day Abstergo storyline, however, plays almost no role in this version.
Polygon's reviewer noted that the phrase "for some reason" echoed throughout their time with Resynced, referring to the narrative and mechanical changes.
