Cleveland Guardians manager Stephen Vogt expects a postseason-like intensity as his team opens a crucial three-game divisional series against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field on July 8, 2026.
The Guardians arrived in Minneapolis holding second place in the American League Central with a 47-45 record. The Twins sit close behind at 45-47.

Cleveland has found success at Target Field recently, winning six of its last eight road games there and 12 of its last 17 matchups since 2023.
Vogt Praises Twins' Offensive Depth
Vogt highlighted the strength of the Minnesota lineup ahead of the series opener.
"They can hit," Vogt said. He noted the Twins' ability to drive the ball, their power, and their overall pressure on opponents.
"They run the bases really well, good pitching, good arms. They match up really well.
It's a really good team," Vogt added.
Statistical data supports his assessment.
Minnesota has posted a 12-7 record since June 14, the fifth-best winning percentage in MLB during that span.
The Twins lead the American League with 448 runs scored this season and top the majors with 52 home runs since June 4.
They also rank third in baseball with 59 first-inning runs.
Defensive Focus on Pull-Side Power
Vogt emphasized that suppressing Minnesota's pull-side power is a key defensive goal for the Guardians.
"We're always trying to avoid pull-side slug," Vogt said. He explained that preventing hard-hit balls to the pull side helps neutralize an aggressive offense.
