Bonnie Tyler, the Welsh singer known for her powerful ballads, has died at the age of 75.
Her death on July 9, 2026, followed a period of ill-health, as reported by the BBC and The Guardian.

The singer underwent emergency intestinal surgery in Portugal earlier this year. She was placed in an induced coma in May, according to her spokesperson.
Although she left the coma last month, she remained severely unwell in intensive care.

Born Gaynor Hopkins in Skewen, near Swansea, Tyler built a career spanning 50 years.
She was discovered by talent scout Roger Bell at a local club and adopted the stage name Bonnie Tyler in 1976.
Her breakthrough came with the 1983 hit "Total Eclipse of the Heart." The song topped charts in 10 countries and sold six million copies worldwide.
It experienced a resurgence during the North American solar eclipse in April 2024, reaching the top of the Apple Music charts.
Tyler recalled the early stages of her career when talent managers sought fresh vocals in London.
Her initial recording success led to an appearance on the television show Top of the Pops.
The single "Lost in France" reached number nine on the UK charts in 1976.
She later transitioned from country-styled tracks to rock music after partnering with producer Jim Steinman.
The original recording of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" lasted eight minutes, but a shortened radio edit became a massive commercial success.
