"I don't understand it, it was a harmless situation," said Yakin.

Yakin noted that the ejection completely altered the tactical dynamics and final progression of the knockout match.

"It was decisive for the entire outcome of the match," said Yakin.

The manager commented on the emotional state of Embolo, who wept and had to be guided to the locker room by teammates after the decision.

"You can imagine how he's doing," said Yakin.

Yakin concluded his remarks by stating that the forward was devastated by his inability to assist the team due to what he termed an officiating error.

"He is shattered. He couldn't help the team today.

It hurts us and it hurts him. It was a referee mistake," said Yakin.

Yakin also confessed that he lacked prior knowledge regarding the recent structural adjustments made to the replay protocol.

"This is a rule that in my opinion has nothing to do with football," said Yakin.

The Swiss manager closed his statement by reiterating that the governing body's policy update was entirely uncalled for.

"The fact that they introduced such a rule is just unnecessary. It is just extremely hurtful," said Yakin.

Swiss midfielder Remo Freuler joined his manager in criticizing the officiating standards and the specific deployment of replay technology.

"It's just a disaster," said Freuler.

Freuler questioned why the video assistant referee chose to intervene in this specific scenario when similar physical contact went unpunished earlier.
