Toyota has released the first images of the updated 2027 Crown Crossover in Japan, ahead of its official debut in mid-September.
The mid-cycle refresh addresses one of the model's most criticized design elements: the two-tone paint scheme.

On the original version, the black paint on the lower body drew mixed reactions.
For the facelift, Toyota reverses the approach: everything from the A-pillars back to the D-pillars is now black, tying into the front bumper, hood, roof, mirrors, and side moldings.
The tail section switches to a body-colored finish with a revised bumper and horizontal reflectors.
The changes sharpen the car's proportions and create a more cohesive look.
Toyota also replaces the current Black shade with a new Neutral Black and changes the lower body cladding from unpainted plastic to Piano Black.
The RS trim gains red brake calipers as standard.
Powertrain and Equipment Updates
According to leaked dealer information cited by Japanese outlet Creative Trend, the Crown Crossover will adopt a fifth-generation hybrid system.
The naturally aspirated 2.5-liter engine pairs with a stronger electric motor, adding 16 hp (12 kW).

Combined output rises by 5 hp (4 kW) to 236 hp (176 kW / 239 PS), and the car is expected to run more often on electric power alone.
The RS trim's turbo 2.4-liter hybrid setup remains unchanged, producing 344 hp (257 kW / 349 PS).
