Financial Uncertainty Threatens LIV Golf's Survival

Kaymer reiterated that the league's long-term survival depends entirely on securing new financial sponsors before next year.

"Hopefully, I think there's a lot of interest and it's looking good. But we've all been there.

If the signature is not there, then it doesn't mean anything," Kaymer said.

"If those investors decide to pull out then we don't play next year on LIV Golf. And if they decide to do it, then we have a chance."

Other marquee players have acknowledged the lack of clarity.

Two-time major champion Jon Rahm addressed the situation on July 21 ahead of LIV Golf UK, but remained noncommittal about his future with the circuit.

"We're in contact with them. We know a lot of what's going on, yeah.

Not that I can share with you guys right now," Rahm said.

When pressed on whether he expects to remain for 2027, he said, "I'm not going to share anything that I can't share with you guys right now."

Chief Executive Officer Scott O'Neil is currently attempting to raise $300 million to $350 million from private investors to keep LIV Golf operational.

The circuit suffered a major setback after Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund ended its funding, followed by the PGA Tour and DP World Tour securing a strategic partnership with the Asian Tour.
