"There is no doubt that Theis played very physically in the last game.
He made light of a few players who wanted to tackle him and was explosive in the openings," Maas added.
Theis expressed quiet confidence in his preparation following his breakthrough performance.
"I am confident I will play well every week because I train hard," Theis said.
Alexander commended his teammate's work ethic and recent recognition among the CFL's weekly stars.

"That's what makes football special, when you see guys take their chance," Alexander said. "I can't express how hard he worked to get there."
Addressing the team's resilience in close games, Maas pointed to the roster's established culture.
"When the running game works, everything opens up for you and it's a huge advantage," Maas said.
Maas stressed that the coaching staff focuses on securing victories rather than margin size.
"We never said we wanted to destroy the opponent or win by a certain number of points," Maas said.
"We just want to win the game. The moments when the score is close are the ones that will define you."
"Some teams can't deliver in those moments. Our group has a certain je-ne-sais-quoi that allows it to excel in these situations.
And that has been the case for three years," Maas added.
"So I think it's now part of us, our culture, our beliefs, and it is reflected in how we lead the players and talk to them.
They have confidence in themselves and are connected by that confidence."
Regarding Hamilton backup quarterback Tre Ford, Maas emphasized defensive discipline.
"He is going to make plays, but you have to limit the damage by showing discipline and hitting him when you get the chance," Maas said.
Prior to the game, Alouettes linebacker Geoffrey Cantin-Arku discussed the team's ultimate goal during an interview on 98.5 FM.
"The Grey Cup is the standard we aim for every year," Cantin-Arku said.
