Another worker recalled scaling a fence after hearing warnings of an active shooter.
"I didn't really hear the shots.
I heard a couple pops, but I didn't think it was anything big until I saw families, kids, everyone just running out of the fair.
Someone said 'active shooter,' and I ran. I jumped the fence," another worker said.
Officials Respond
Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson confirmed that the Washington State Patrol SWAT team was dispatched to assist Seattle police.
"I'm receiving briefings regarding the ongoing response to the tragedy at the Seattle Center. Please continue to avoid the area," Ferguson said.
Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson called the incident "an act of horrific violence" and pledged transparency.
"No one should have to weigh the risk of being shot before attending an event, gathering with friends, or experiencing their city," Wilson said.
She thanked first responders and urged anyone experiencing a mental health crisis to call or text 988.

Police are asking any witnesses who have not yet spoken to come forward with information.
