Epic Games took Fortnite offline for scheduled maintenance at 4 a. m.
ET on Thursday, July 30, 2026, ahead of a crossover featuring Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The game went down for the v41.30 patch during Chapter 7, Season 3 Runners, which launched on June 6 and runs through August 19.
Matchmaking ended shortly before maintenance began.
Downtime and New Features
Fortnite Status on X announced the downtime and upcoming features: "Swing into action with Spider-Man's Web Shooters in non-competitive play, track down new Sprites and variants, unlock new Sprite Mastery rewards and more!"
The update is expected to last less than two hours. Epic Games also released a reveal trailer starring Tom Holland to preview content arriving on August 1.
The crossover lands two days after the theatrical release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31.
The trailer shows a three-minute fight scene between Spider-Man and Frank Castle's Punisher.
Three character outfits will join the Item Shop: a Spider-Man suit with a removable mask showing Tom Holland's likeness, Jon Bernthal's Punisher, and a Brand New Day design for Hulk.
The update brings back Mythic Web Shooters to non-competitive modes, offering enhanced map mobility.
The Simpsons content returns to Reload mode, and new Sprite variants such as Gem, Peely, Llama, and Quack Zero Point are introduced.
