Dutch businessman Hennie van der Most is set to lose his Speelstad Oranje amusement park in Drenthe to a forced auction on September 22, 2026.
The sale follows total debt claims of nearly 50 million euros filed by 30 creditors after Van der Most declared bankruptcy last month.

Bankruptcy trustee Vincent Terlouw received claims totaling 49,674,922.83 euros, with one of Van der Most's own private limited companies listed as a major creditor.
Auction Details and Property
The 30-hectare property in the canal village of Oranje includes former hospitality facilities, support infrastructure, parking zones, and an unfinished hotel project.
Auction house Vastgoed Veiling announced that potential buyers can inspect the complex on August 24 before bidding begins.
The entire complex will be sold under an "as is, where is" condition, meaning the winning bidder accepts all visible and hidden structural defects.
Speelstad Oranje originally opened in 1992 and ceased operations in 2015. Although fresh capital was injected in 2020, redevelopment plans were abandoned a year later.
This auction follows the earlier sale of Van der Most's Rivoli amusement park in Rotterdam, which generated 6.5 million euros in April—far short of covering his total debts.
In addition to Speelstad Oranje, Van der Most's 145-hectare commercial site in Schuinesloot is also slated for auction.

The operational industrial buildings there currently generate 700,000 euros in annual rental income.
"Mentioning a specific figure is difficult, but given the total real estate involved, we expect it to feature quite a few zeros," said Richard Dieteren of the auction house.
