Rezvani has taken its Beast supercar to the next level with the new Beast X, a hardcore version of the Corvette E-Ray that produces a staggering 1,560 horsepower.

Only five examples of this extreme coupe will be built, each priced at $500,000 – almost exactly twice the cost of a fully loaded Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X.

More Power, More Drama

The Beast X is based on the current C8 Corvette, but Rezvani appears to have started with the hybrid E-Ray model.

The company doesn't explicitly confirm this, but a graphic on its website shows an electric motor driving the front axle, and the spec reveals a 6.2-liter V8 behind the seats, rather than the 5.5-liter used in the Z06, ZR1, and ZR1X.

While a showroom E-Ray's naturally aspirated V8 and electric motor produce a combined 655 hp, Rezvani's bespoke 6.2-liter V8 gets two turbos, boosting output to an outrageous 1,560 hp and 1,280 lb-ft of torque, delivered through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

For perspective, Chevrolet's new Corvette ZR1X makes 1,250 hp with its twin-turbo V8 and front electric assistance.

Rezvani claims the Beast X can sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 1.9 seconds, a significant 0.6 seconds quicker than the non-hybrid Beast and the stock E-Ray.

The existing Beast, which is not hybrid, makes up to 1,000 hp in its hottest spec, with power sent only to the rear wheels.
