NHL Central Scouting lists four skaters in the event inside the top 60 of its final North American rankings: Chicoutimi forward Liam Lefebvre (No. 38), Everett defenseman Brek Liske (No. 44), Kitchener defenseman Alexander Bilecki (No. 49), and Everett forward Matias Vanhanen (No. 54).

Goaltenders Harrison Boettiger of Kelowna and Jason Schaubel of Kitchener rank No. 10 and No. 36 respectively on the Central Scouting final North American goaltender list.

Host team Kelowna enters the Memorial Cup for the sixth time since 1995, marking the 30th anniversary of the franchise's relocation from Tacoma, Washington.

Historical data shows host teams have won the tournament 12 times since the four-team round-robin format began in 1983, with Saginaw achieving the feat most recently in 2024.

The Western Hockey League holds 16 titles in the past 41 tournaments, followed by the Ontario Hockey League with 14 championships and the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League with 11 victories.

Chicoutimi captured its third Gilles-Courteau Trophy and first in 32 years under coach Yanick Jean by defeating Moncton in a six-game QMJHL championship series.
