The legacy of Salah's goal-scoring prowess was also validated by the club's all-time leading scorer, Ian Rush, who highlighted the forward's competitive nature and banter during training sessions.

"Mohamed knew what he had to do to become a Liverpool legend and he took it to a different level," said Rush.

Rush recalled a lighthearted interaction where Salah questioned the historical tracking of his own scoring statistics.

"He couldn't believe how many goals I scored. So he actually said to me: 'Did you count your goals in training?'"

said Rush.

The Welsh striker further noted that Salah's performances in high-profile rivalries permanently cemented his status among the Anfield fan base.

"For me, what makes him special among the fans is the goals he scores against Everton and Manchester United," said Rush.

Salah scored 13 goals against Manchester United and nine against Everton during his nine seasons.

Former teammate Adam Lallana noted that Salah immediately demonstrated an understanding of English football upon his arrival, having previously played for Chelsea.

"In the first week of training he was just completely different to what we had. His attitude and application immediately was at the level.

What I could see straight away was that he'd already played in the Premier League.

He understood the mindset, the pace of the league, and it was like he had a big, big, big point to prove," said Lallana.

Salah's final appearance at Anfield against Brentford will be broadcast live on Sky Sports+, with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.
