The host Rockets seek their first goal of the tournament after suffering a 5-0 shutout loss against the Kitchener Rangers on Friday night, a rare occurrence for a team blanked only twice during the regular season and playoffs.
"Last game we passed up some looks that we probably could've shot on and maybe that was the difference," said Hiroki Gojsic, Kelowna Rockets forward.
Kelowna generated only 24 shots on goal during their opening game, leaving local star prospect Tij Iginla relatively contained after a dominant 90-point regular season campaign following hip surgery.
"It's super important [to get that first goal out of the way]," said Gojsic.
The Rockets look to ignite their home crowd early while counting on physical players like Dawson Gerwing and defenseman Parker Alcos to establish momentum.

"We want to get the crowd into it early so it's crucial," said Gojsic.
