The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Monday that forward Max Domi will be sidelined indefinitely due to complications from a recent offseason surgical procedure.
The operation was performed to correct an injury Domi played through during the 2025-26 season. The team did not disclose specific details about the injury or the surgery.

Domi, 31, is scheduled for a medical update later this year.
He will continue working with the club's medical staff and be re-evaluated at the start of training camp.
The setback creates roster uncertainty for Toronto as they prepare for the upcoming campaign. Domi recently completed the first year of a four-year, $15 million contract extension.
His annual salary cap hit is $3.75 million through the 2027-28 season.

In the 2025-26 regular season, Domi appeared in 80 games, recording 12 goals and 24 assists for 36 points.
He posted a career-worst minus-29 rating, the second-lowest on the team behind Matthew Knies.
Domi was selected 12th overall by the Arizona Coyotes in 2013.
He has 150 goals and 486 points in 815 career NHL games with Arizona, Montreal, Columbus, Chicago, Dallas, and Toronto.
