This move resolves the ongoing tension between Brown and the Eagles organization.
While the return package did not exceed initial expectations, Philadelphia successfully moved a player who no longer wished to remain with the team.
Eagles Shift Focus to DeVonta Smith
With Brown's departure, the Eagles are turning their attention to DeVonta Smith to lead the receiving corps.
Smith has previously shown he can handle the responsibilities of a primary wide receiver during key stretches of his career.
The upcoming regular season will test Smith with a full workload as the definitive number one target.
When discussing his expanding role with reporters, Smith expressed readiness to embrace the challenges ahead.
"I think that when you have a room like the one we have, it brings the best out in everybody else," Smith said, per the team.

"That's what I'm focusing on – learning the offense, doing what I can do to help us win football games and improving every day, and helping the guys in the room."
Smith remains focused on team-oriented success and understanding the collective effort needed for the franchise to reach its goals.
