"Shift by shift, night by night, I slowly built up my confidence working in the bar," said Thomas Tuchel.
Musician Herre later noted that the future football manager became a close part of his social circle and regularly attended live performances across Europe.
"I overcame my inhibitions about asking strangers if they needed my help, and I realised that people liked me for who I was, that they had no idea that I was an ex-footballer," said Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel left the establishment immediately after processing the news of his former team's success to focus entirely on his new sporting career path.
"On one occasion, he even came all the way to a gig in Vienna," said Herre, musician.
The trainer later admitted that witnessing his former peers achieve Bundesliga status while he worked a service job caused him immense frustration.
"I was really annoyed because I thought, 'I always wanted to get to the Bundesliga, and now they are living my dream,'" said Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel left his shift half an hour later to fully commit to his developmental coaching role at VfB Stuttgart.
"I worked another half an hour and then I told my colleagues that I had to leave," said Thomas Tuchel.
According to data provided by Al Jazeera, the global tournament will expand from 32 to 48 national teams for the first time in history, featuring 12 groups of four teams.
The host nations, including the United States, Mexico, and Canada, qualified automatically, while the remaining 45 countries secured entry through a two-year continental qualification process.
The expanded format introduces a new Round of 32 knockout stage, requiring the top two teams from each group and the eight best third-placed finishers to advance.
A total of 104 matches will be played across 16 host cities in three nations, with the United States staging 78 matches, while Mexico and Canada will host 13 matches each.
The tournament officially opens on June 11 at Mexico City Stadium, where Mexico will play South Africa in a Group A rematch of the 2010 World Cup opening match.
