The 23-year-old center achieved the feat in 15 minutes and 58 seconds of action before heading to the locker room for halftime at the Frost Bank Center.

Wembanyama's defensive performance comes as the Spurs face elimination, trailing 3-1 in the championship series.
A loss would end the season for head coach Mitch Johnson and his team.
In addition to his blocks, Wembanyama contributed nine points, nine rebounds, and two assists in the first half.

He shot 3-of-10 from the field, 1-of-3 from three-point range, and made both of his free throws.
The current NBA Finals single-game record is held by Dwight Howard, who blocked nine shots for the Orlando Magic against the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009.
Howard is one of only two players to record eight or more blocks in a Finals game since 2000.

Five other players are tied for the second-most blocks in an NBA Finals game with eight blocks, including former San Antonio Spurs center Tim Duncan during the 2003 Finals.
