Croatian tennis player Donna Vekic defeated British No.1 Emma Raducanu in straight sets to win the Queen's Club title.

Vekic, who entered the tournament as a lucky loser, secured a 6-0, 7-6(6) victory in the final.

The opening set lasted just 29 minutes.

Vekic used her powerful flat ball-striking and precise two-handed backhand to build a 5-0 lead before closing it out with a backhand passing shot.

Raducanu struggled early with the speed of Vekic's shots, showing uncertainty from the corners and lacking pace on her groundstrokes and serve.

During the break between sets, Raducanu regrouped. She won her first service game to a loud ovation from the 9,000-strong crowd.

The British player broke Vekic's momentum by attacking her second serve and finding better depth, establishing a 5-2 lead in the second set.

Raducanu earned two set points on her own serve at 5-4 but missed a crucial forehand at the net.

She then conceded four consecutive games to trail 5-6.

In the final stages of the 90-minute match, Raducanu saved three consecutive match points with two forehand winners and a strong first serve to force a tie-break.

Vekic regained control of the baseline during the tie-break and held her nerve to close out the match.

The 29-year-old Croatian has a strong grass-court record.

She won a title in Nottingham in 2017, reached the Wimbledon semi-finals in 2024, and earned an Olympic singles silver medal in Paris.
