He exchanged words with White Sox reliever Mike Vasil after striking out Colson Montgomery to leave the bases loaded in the fifth inning.
“I'm not even going to address it,” Skubal said. “It's over.
I don't even know who it was.”
Skubal surrendered solo home runs to Junior Perez in the sixth and Randal Grichuk in the first, both on his changeup.
Despite the long balls, he kept the Tigers in the game.
“We're fighting tooth and nail for every win we can get,” Skubal said.
“We put ourselves in that position, and we got to fight our way out of it.”
The outing was Skubal's second start since returning from a 38-day injured list stint due to a bone chip in his left elbow.

The reigning two-time American League Cy Young winner now holds a 3.02 ERA across nine starts this season.
“I'm a competitive guy,” Skubal said. “I wear my emotions out there.
That's part of how I play the game.”
Tigers manager A. J.
Hinch praised Skubal's presence.
“Our team comes to the ballpark when Tarik Skubal is pitching with a ton of confidence that we're going to win the game,” Hinch said.
“His presence matters to a team, and we missed it when it was gone.”
