A 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Willys '41 with just 3,600 miles on the odometer failed to attract strong bidding at a recent auction.

The special-edition model, originally priced at $63,685, received a high bid of only $34,250.

The vehicle was listed on Cars & Bids in Torrance, California. It featured military-tribute styling, including Olive Drab paint and US Marine Corps stickers, but otherwise remained stock.

The nearly $30,000 gap between MSRP and the top bid highlights the steep depreciation affecting the Wrangler 4xe.

The plug-in hybrid once ranked among the best-selling PHEVs in the US but has faced multiple recalls and a class-action lawsuit over battery defects.

Jeep stopped selling the 4xe last year amid safety concerns. Owners allege that Samsung-supplied lithium-ion battery packs have defective cells that could cause thermal runaway and fire.

The Willys '41 configuration may have also limited appeal.

It came exclusively in Olive Drab with color-matched 17-inch wheels and a tan fabric soft top, which is less practical than the standard hard roof panels.

Despite the low mileage and near-new condition, bidders were unwilling to pay more than $34,250.

The result underscores the challenges facing the Wrangler 4xe in the resale market.
