The Sacramento Kings selected University of Houston guard Emanuel Sharp with the No. 45 overall pick in the second round of the NBA Draft on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

Sharp's selection marked a historic moment for the Cougars, as Houston had three players taken in the same draft for the first time in program history.

Earlier in the draft, freshman guard Kingston Flemings went eighth overall to the Atlanta Hawks, and freshman forward Chris Cenac Jr. was picked 27th by the Boston Celtics.

Houston head coach Kelvin Sampson addressed the team's upcoming roster changes after losing three top prospects.

"It's not about replacing a player," Sampson said. "It's about finding ways to make your team better."

Sharp, 22, averaged 15.5 points per game as a senior, shooting 37.2 percent from three-point range and 89.1 percent from the free-throw line.

The 6-foot-3 guard leaves Houston as the program's all-time leader in made three-pointers with 277 career triples, surpassing Marcus Sasser's previous record.
