To finalize the long-term contract, the Celtics will decline Harper's $2.6 million team option for the upcoming offseason.
The 6-foot-5 wing previously played on an Exhibit-10 contract with Boston before earning a standard roster spot in April.
Harper's journey to a guaranteed deal included stints with the Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons.
He spent time with the Maine Celtics and on a two-way contract with Detroit before returning to Boston, where he averaged 4.2 points and 1.7 rebounds over 29 games.

His standout performances included a 27-point game against the Orlando Magic and an 11-point outing in Houston while defending Kevin Durant.
After recovering from a season-ending shoulder injury, Harper participated in the 2024 Summer League and expressed his readiness for a larger role.
"I'm a player that's going to play hard, play the right way, play within himself," Harper said.
He added, "I feel like I know the system; the coverages are like the back of my hand."
