Following the injury, ITV football pundit Gary Neville criticized the squad selection and structural depth at the right-back position during the match coverage.
"The one position I think I am pretty qualified to speak on is right back and if you had said to me a couple of months ago that Quansah would be playing right-back for England in a tournament, I would say something has gone badly wrong," said Gary Neville.
Neville voiced his disagreement with the omission of other high-profile defensive options from the final 26-man tournament roster.
"He's picked Reece James and Livramento, players who are injury prone.
He's not brought Trent Alexander-Arnold, who obviously is someone with world class quality, for what reasons we can only imagine.

That is where we are right now, England will win this group and win this game but there some turbulence in there," said Neville.
He further questioned the tactical decision to utilize the versatile center-back out of position to preserve other squad members.
"I wonder whether he's basically played Quansah at right-back today on the basis that he knows Djed Spence is going to have to play every other game in the tournament, because he's basically put all his eggs in one basket," said Neville.
Neville argued that England's large tournament squad should have featured more natural specialists rather than flexible utility options.
"My point is, Djed Spence is the only option really at right-back.
