Viktor Hovland secured his first victory of the season by defeating world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler in a sudden-death playoff at the Travelers Championship on Sunday.
The two golfers finished regulation play tied at 21 under par at TPC River Highlands before Hovland sank a birdie putt in the playoff.

Scheffler missed a short birdie attempt that would have extended the match.
Weather Disrupts Final Round
Unfavorable weather conditions disrupted the tournament over the weekend. A wet course on Saturday and additional rain on Sunday caused play delays during the final round.
Hovland entered the final round with a one-stroke lead after carding a 6-under 64 on Saturday.
He rebounded from a two-shot deficit early in the third round to edge ahead of Scheffler.
During Sunday's final round, Hovland recorded four bogeys but counteracted them with five birdies.
Scheffler carded three birdies and a single bogey to shoot a 2-under par and force the playoff.
The victory marks the eighth career PGA Tour title for Hovland.
Scheffler was aiming for his second win of the season following his victory at the American Express in January.
Before the final round, Hovland expressed excitement about competing directly against the top-ranked player in the world.
"Just had a great time," said Hovland, the Norwegian golfer. "It's been a while since I've been in this position.
To go head-to-head against the best player in the world and pull off some great shots, it was just a lot of fun."
