The Los Angeles Lakers are setting their sights on Philadelphia 76ers guard Quentin Grimes as a top free agent target following LeBron James' departure on Tuesday.
According to reports from Dallas Hoops Journal and The Stein Line, the Lakers' front office plans to use their estimated $52 million in salary cap space to build a competitive roster around Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.

Grimes' Recent Performance
Grimes, 26, is an unrestricted free agent after averaging 13.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 75 games for the 76ers last season.
He previously played alongside Doncic on the Dallas Mavericks during the first half of the 2024-25 campaign, averaging 10.2 points while shooting 39.8% from three-point range over 47 games.

The Lakers missed out on retaining sharpshooter Luke Kennard, who agreed to a two-year, $13 million contract with the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday evening, as reported by ESPN.
Los Angeles has also expressed internal interest in veteran forward Tobias Harris, Cleveland Cavaliers big man Dean Wade, and Toronto Raptors forward Sandro Mamukelashvili.
