Trade unions characterized the abolition of telephone-authorized sick leave as a direct regression of established employee safeguards.

The tax relief is welcomed, but the expansion of fixed-term contracts is an "attack on workers' rights," said Christiane Benner, IG Metall chair.

Union leadership stated that the modifications to medical certification requirements align predominantly with corporate interests at the expense of staff well-being.

The abolition of telephone sick notes fulfilled employers' "antisocial wish list," said Benner.

Opposition political figures and environmentalist leaders rejected the coalition's policy directions, claiming the adjustments ignore broader socioeconomic challenges.

The reform package amounted to a "vote of no confidence in citizens," said Felix Banaszak, Green Party co-leader.

The socialist faction argued that minor tax reductions fail to mitigate rising healthcare expenses and escalating living costs.

The reform package is a "program of mistrust and ignorance," said the Left Party leadership.

Medical professionals warned that the revised certification mandates would generate excessive operational blockages within local clinics.

The proposed sick note changes are "absolutely catastrophic," said Markus Blumenthal-Beier, German Medical Association chairman.

General practitioners expressed concern that the immediate requirement for physical consultations would severely strain healthcare administrative resources.

The coalition is "accepting the complete overburdening of our doctors' practices," said Blumenthal-Beier.

Economic research institutes warned that the long-term effectiveness of the tax relief remains tied to stricter control over state expenditures.

"The reform package's greatest weakness is the absence of measures to consolidate government spending," said Clemens Fuest, Ifo Institute President.

The research body noted that medium-term fiscal sustainability cannot be achieved without curbing the growth of federal outlays.

"Tax relief is not feasible in the medium term unless the growth of government spending is curbed," said Fuest.

Independent research bodies forecast that the legislative measures will reinforce economic acceleration during the latter half of the year.

"The government has demonstrated its ability to agree on key structural reforms and implement them by the end of the year," said Marion Muehlberger, Deutsche Bank Research analyst.

The analytical group noted that the package represents one of the most substantial policy transformations observed in recent decades.

"This is likely to boost sentiment and reinforces our forecast of accelerating economic growth in the second half of the year," said Muehlberger.
