The Seattle Mariners lost outfielders Julio Rodriguez and Victor Robles to injuries during Thursday's home game against the Los Angeles Angels at T-Mobile Park.
Rodriguez exited in the third inning after being hit in the back of the helmet by a thrown ball.

His initial replacement, Robles, departed in the fifth inning due to a right forearm injury.
How the Injuries Occurred
In the bottom of the first inning, Rodriguez walked and advanced on a ground ball.
Angels first baseman Nolan Schanuel's throw to second base struck Rodriguez directly in the helmet.
Although Rodriguez reached third base and played defense in the top of the second, he was replaced by Robles in center field by the third inning.
Medical staff likely removed him due to concussion protocol.

In the bottom of the third, Angels pitcher Walbert Urena hit Robles on the right forearm with a 97.9 mph sinker.
Robles finished the inning and played defense in the top of the fourth but was replaced before the fifth.
Luke Raley shifted to center field, and utility player Weston Wilson entered in right field.
According to MLB. com's Daniel Kramer, the double exit left Seattle short-handed for the remainder of the series finale.
Rodriguez had appeared in 87 of Seattle's 88 games this season after playing a career-high 160 games last year.

The Mariners did not immediately release official updates on the long-term status of either player.
