The 86-year-old leader was killed alongside several family members in a joint US-Israeli air strike on his compound on February 28.

Although the burial was initially planned for March, official reports indicate the ceremony was postponed due to the ongoing war involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.

The events mark the first major state ceremony under his son and successor, Mojtaba Khamenei, who has remained out of public view since the conflict began four months ago.
