"I'm probably losing the best part of £4,000 of revenue and, in this climate, where it's hard for business with the increase in minimum wages, NIC, business rates going up, this is just another smack in the face to us," said Kinsey.

He expressed dissatisfaction with how local businesses were expected to handle the logistical challenges.

Conversely, Jonathan Tighe, managing director of Oakwood Travel, observed a rise in bookings from residents wishing to leave the area during the event.

He critiqued the communication but noted that business improved.

"The good thing is that business has improved.

We've done four bookings this week for people who don't want to be here while the festival is on," explained Tighe.

He suggested that earlier announcements regarding future festival dates would assist local commerce.

"So, going forward, if it is going to be an annual event, if we knew the dates more in advance we would be able to do more business," explained Tighe.

While acknowledging that the concert highlights Leeds, he questioned its duration.

Other businesses prepared for an influx of customers.

Jake Fischer, owner of the Cheesy Living Company on Roundhay Road, launched a barbecue and pop-up bar to capitalize on foot traffic.

"We're excited. It's good to have something different going on," said Fischer.

He anticipated that the new demographic visiting the area would create a positive outcome.

"We'll have a different mix of people coming to the area and we'll see what it brings," said Fischer.
