Green earned approximately $2.3 million during the 2025-26 season before proving his value to the franchise.

Green was the only Pistons player to appear in all 82 regular-season games.
He averaged 6.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 17.6 minutes per contest.
His versatility on both ends of the floor provided stability as the roster dealt with various injuries.

The veteran's defensive mindset fit the style desired by the Detroit organization on a modest contract.
Green initially joined Detroit late in the previous offseason after stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers, New Orleans Pelicans, and Chicago Bulls.
He went undrafted out of Radford and played internationally before establishing his NBA career.
The retention is part of Detroit's offseason adjustments, which also included re-signing wing Kevin Huerter.
