"Funding schools in Elkhart, roads in Atchison and everything in between should be done through economic growth and job creation…not raising taxes," he said.

Masterson stated the project is essential for long-term regional stability.

"By generating tens of millions of dollars of revenue for the state and creating thousands of Kansas jobs, this project helps place Kansas on solid financial footing for generations to come while lessening the burden on our taxpayers," he added.

Kansas House Speaker Daniel Hawkins noted the empirical data answers critical fiscal questions.

Unified Government Mayor Christal Watson and Olathe Mayor John Bacon praised the influx of visitors and long-term expansion.

The move marks the end of an era at Arrowhead Stadium, where the Chiefs have played since 1972.
