King Charles expects his eldest son to eventually reconsider his position once the immediate tensions subside.

"Charles is tired of defending his position on this matter, he says the decision has been made in the family's best interests, and if William continues to fight him on that, then he's being petulant and obstructive," the source noted.

"All this talk that William is now threatening to boycott Sandringham is utterly ridiculous and over the top.

In his view, he assumes it's something that was said in the heat of the moment, and once the dust settles, William will hopefully calm down and start to see common sense," the source remarked.

The monarch is prepared to personally oversee the discussions to ensure both brothers can openly address their differences.

"Charles is determined to force it through.

He's certain that Harry can be talked into it, and once they're in the same room, it'll be a case of them finally opening their hearts and dropping their respective grievances, preferably one-on-one, though he is more than willing to sit in and act as a de facto mediator," the source revealed.

External observers have closely monitored the situation, noting the significant public and political implications of the King's mediation strategy.

"Make no mistake, this is a huge victory for Harry, a massive humiliation for William and a gigantic political gamble (which I suspect won't pay off) for the King," stated one royal watcher.

The ongoing feud contrasts sharply with the historical closeness of the two brothers, who have not spoken directly since the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.
