The top seed advanced by defeating Taylor Townsend and Karolina Pliskova.
Eala made history as the first Filipino tennis player to reach a Grand Slam third round in the Open era.
The 21-year-old overcame a one-set deficit against Maya Joint, winning 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 on Thursday.
The match is their third career meeting, with a 1-1 head-to-head record.

I can assume on grass that it’s even trickier because of the surface,” Swiatek said.
Swiatek noted that Eala effectively uses her strengths, including changes of rhythm. Eala expressed confidence facing the six-time Grand Slam champion on grass.
“She’s won a Slam on grass. She’s won a Slam on clay.
She’s won a Slam on hard, so, I mean, I’m expecting a great challenge,” Eala said. “But I think I’m ready for it.
I’m ready to face it head on.”
Eala highlighted the significance of her performance for the Philippines after her second-round win.
“It’s obviously an amazing thing for me to do that for my country,” she said.
Hundreds of Filipino fans supported the left-handed player on Court Three during her match against Joint.
