Fourth seed Jessica Pegula rallied from a set down to defeat 18-year-old Iva Jovic 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 on Sunday, securing her place in the Wimbledon quarterfinals.
The American recovered from a shaky start under the sunshine on No. 1 Court, improving her first-serve points won from 35% in the opening set to 82% in the second.

Jovic, who capitalized on Pegula's early errors to take the first set, struggled as Pegula raised her level.
The teenager won just 47% of first-serve points in the second set as her forehand became erratic.
Pegula dictated play from the baseline in the decider, moving forward more frequently to dominate net exchanges. She sealed the match with an ace on a love hold.

Quarterfinal Berth
With the victory, Pegula matches her career-best Wimbledon result from 2023.
She will face the winner of the match between 11th seed Belinda Bencic and seventh seed Coco Gauff.

The win helped Pegula avoid the wave of upsets that hit the bottom half of the draw on Saturday, when second seed Elena Rybakina and defending champion Iga Swiatek were eliminated.
