In Season 3, Episode 2 titled "Queen's Landing," the show depicted Rhaenyra, played by Emma D'Arcy, taking the throne smoothly without the physical injuries described in the original text.
According to the novel, the throne explicitly rejects her during her first time sitting on it.
Martin wrote that "cuts were seen upon Her Grace’s legs and the palm of her left hand."
The physical wounds from the blades historically symbolize a short and contested rule within Westerosi lore, contrasting with the show's emphasis on a botched execution of Otto Hightower.

Some viewers are tracking whether the omission will be permanent or merely delayed as the story progresses.
