Ajax's financial demands have stalled negotiations for a permanent transfer of Turkish defender Ahmetcan Kaplan to NEC Nijmegen.
The Eredivisie club is keen to secure a permanent deal after his successful loan spell last season.

According to Voetbal International Ajax watcher Tim van Duijn, the 23-year-old center-back is currently too expensive for the Gelderland-based club.
Kaplan previously played 33 matches, scored three goals, and helped NEC secure a third-place finish before a knee injury sidelined him during the final phase of the season.
The financial requirements set by Ajax remain the primary obstacle despite interest from Nijmegen.
Transfermarkt estimates the market value of the defender at seven million euros, but reports indicate that Ajax requires a significantly higher amount to finalize the deal.

"Te duur voor NEC vooralsnog," said Tim van Duijn, Ajax watcher for Voetbal International.
The stance comes four years after Amsterdam executives originally signed the player.
Ajax initially acquired Kaplan from Trabzonspor in the summer of 2022 for a reported transfer fee of 9.5 million euros.
