"Kyiv and its European sponsors are banking on prolonging and even escalating the conflict," according to the foreign ministry.

Russian authorities claimed tactical superiority on the frontline, asserting that their forces recently captured the strategically positioned town of Kostyantynivka.

"Our president has outlined the reality of the situation on the battlefield, where the Russian Armed Forces are advancing confidently," the ministry said.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on Monday that both leaders resolved to maintain communication channels through the scheduled international meetings.

"Yes, indeed, both President Putin and President Trump have agreed that their contacts will continue in the near future," said Peskov.

The Russian government dismissed reports suggesting the American president was wavering in his strategic approach to the eastern European conflict.

"You know, President Trump, the U. S.

president, has a fairly consistent stance, and all these fabrications about him supposedly changing his views like a weather vane are, of course, untrue," said Peskov.

Moscow officials indicated that the American leader remained receptive to direct assessments provided by the Russian presidency.

"He is consistent and confident in his understanding of what is happening, but, most importantly, he (Trump) is open to listening to the information that is conveyed to him by Putin," said Peskov.

President Zelenskyy separately confirmed his conversation with Trump via social media, expressing confidence in American diplomatic leadership.

"There is a real prospect to put an end to this war, and America's resolve is decisive," Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian military vehemently rejected Moscow's claims regarding frontline losses in Donetsk, labeling the announcements as psychological operations.
