The service in South Florida uses fully autonomous Model Y vehicles operating without human safety monitors.

Miami joins Austin, Dallas, and Houston as cities where Tesla offers unsupervised robotaxi rides.

In contrast, Tesla's San Francisco Bay Area network—covering San Francisco, San Jose, and Berkeley since July 2025—still uses human safety monitors during customer rides.

Aggressive Timelines and Competition

CEO Elon Musk stated during the company's latest earnings call that fully autonomous vehicles without human supervision would become significantly more common across the nation.
