Manager Tony Vitello, drawing on his college coaching experience, has been involved in organizational discussions about player makeup and character.

Vitello noted that predicting success in baseball is uniquely difficult compared to other sports. “It’s impossible to predict the future.
All due respect to football and basketball, it is way harder in this sport to predict the future with a pitcher or a hitter.”
