The iconic Goodyear Blimp navigated London's airspace on Wednesday, July 8, marking its first return to the United Kingdom since 2022.
The commercial airship launched from an airfield in Upminster and completed multiple loops over East, South East, and Central London.

Live tracking data from Flightradar24 showed a second flight circuit later in the day.
Onlookers reported sightings over prominent landmarks including Woolwich, Canary Wharf, Big Ben, and the London Eye.
According to Goodyear, the blimp also operated on July 1 and over the following weekend.
The current UK tour is scheduled to continue until July 14. Many residents have submitted photographs of the vehicle to MyLondon.
Historical Significance and Technical Specs
Company leadership expressed enthusiasm about the ongoing aerial promotional tour.
Ben Crawley, sales general manager consumer replacement Northern Europe, said the blimp is a recognizable icon worldwide and the company is thrilled to see it return to the UK this summer.

The tire manufacturer owns the airship, which frequently appears at major international events such as motorsport competitions, football finals, and the Coachella music festival.
The program is the oldest active airship operation globally, established in 1925.
Goodyear first introduced the airship to British skies in June 1972 over Cardington, Bedfordshire.
It later covered major historical events including the 1980 FA Cup Final, the wedding of Charles and Diana at St Paul's Cathedral, and the Live Aid concert at Wembley Stadium.
The craft shares technical specifications with three operational models used in the United States. The vessel measures over 75 meters in length and nearly 18 meters in height.
It uses a semi-rigid internal skeleton of aluminum and carbon fiber trusses to support three vectored engines.

This configuration allows a maximum speed of 125 kilometers per hour, hovering, and vertical takeoffs and landings similar to a helicopter.
