England batter Tammy Beaumont announced on July 8, 2026, that she will retire from international cricket following the upcoming Test match against India at Lord's.

The four-day match, starting July 10, marks England's first-ever women's Test at the historic venue.

The 35-year-old opener made her international debut in 2009 and has since played 260 matches across all formats: 11 Tests, 140 One-Day Internationals, and 109 T20s.

Beaumont holds the record for the most ODI centuries for England Women with 12 hundreds.

She is also one of only two English women—alongside former captain Heather Knight—and five English players overall to score an international century in all three formats.

Among her career highlights, Beaumont was named Player of the Tournament during England's 2017 ICC Women's World Cup victory on home soil, finishing as the top scorer with 410 runs.

In 2023, she became the first English woman to score a Test double-century, making 208 against Australia at Trent Bridge during the Women's Ashes.

Having received her first central contract in 2014, Beaumont was a staple in England's top order before losing her place in the T20 squad in 2022 and missing out on the recent T20 World Cup squad.

Despite retiring from the national team, she confirmed she will continue playing domestic cricket for The Blaze and Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred.

Reflecting on Her Career

"Playing for England for nearly 17 years has been the greatest honour," Beaumont said. She noted the changing landscape of women's cricket since her childhood.
