Goodman hurt his hand and wrist while sliding into home plate for what was initially called the go-ahead run, though the safe call was later overturned after a replay challenge.

The 26-year-old catcher was a late scratch from Tuesday's lineup because of the left hand contusion.

Follow-up X-rays on Tuesday came back negative, and he is listed as day-to-day by team officials.

Brett Sullivan started at catcher and batted ninth on Wednesday, following Braxton Fulford who filled the position Tuesday night.

Goodman entered the series with a . 333/.

When asked if the injury could be short-term, Goodman said, "Probably — we’ll see. I don’t have a lot of information on it."

Goodman is the first Colorado player to earn back-to-back All-Star Game invitations since Nolan Arenado, Charlie Blackmon, and Trevor Story in the late 2010s, according to mlb.
