Other Angels Injury Updates
Right-handed pitcher Ben Joyce commenced a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League.
Joyce is working his way back from shoulder surgery after being shut down for a month due to recovery issues following a brief May assignment with Class-A Rancho Cucamonga.
Meanwhile, right fielder Jo Adell is awaiting clarification on his defensive records.
While the Hall of Fame recognized his major league record of three home run robberies in a single game on April 4, Sports Info Solutions is reviewing two other catches to see if he matched the single-season record of five.
"They're close," said Jo Adell. "I'm jumping high enough to get them so nobody knows unless you let them drop.
They're close enough."
According to Mark Simon of Sports Info Solutions, a catch against the Boston Red Sox last Saturday was ruled not a robbery, while a May 12 catch against the Cleveland Guardians remains under review.
Only Carlos Gomez, Lorenzo Cain, and Josh Reddick have recorded five home run robberies in a single season since tracking began in 2004.
Additionally, right-hander Grayson Rodriguez is scheduled for a Wednesday bullpen session in Texas to clear the final hurdle for his return from a back injury.
Catcher Travis d'Arnaud has started running to overcome plantar fasciitis, though he will require minor league rehab games prior to activation.
