The funds will cover legal representation for the trust, as well as for current and former employees involved in the proceedings.

A specialized team will handle extensive data retrieval requests from thousands of sources spanning 24 years.
Inquiry Scope
Investigators are examining deaths of mental health inpatients in Essex between 2000 and 2023.
The inquiry now includes patients who died within three months of discharge or admission consultation, including those under dementia and end-of-life care.

“As the inquiry progresses, there will be many accounts of people who were much loved and missed over the past 24 years, and I want to say how sorry I am for their loss,” said Trevor Smith, EPUT chief executive.
Smith apologized for previous delays in providing information to Baroness Lampard and her team.
