The Briton highlighted a lack of recent vehicle upgrades as a primary reason for the sudden performance deficit relative to earlier races.

"I don't know... a lot of people didn't do a good job I guess.

There's no way we can finish P2 in Miami and have a car like this today.

Other people have brought a lot of upgrades and updates since, and we kind of haven't, so yeah, nothing has brought us that much performance.

I don't know, the car was just undriveable," said Norris.

Untelevised team radio audio reported by PlanetF1 later revealed that the pit wall also issued strict instructions regarding post-race overtaking rules.

"Yeah, Lewis did already," said Norris.

Norris observed that multiple drivers were not maintaining positions during the cooldown lap before being told again to remain disciplined.

"Lewis has overtaken everyone. I mean, everyone's overtaking," said Norris.

The driver eventually complied with the safety directives to prevent any risk of a post-race penalty from the stewards.

"Yeah, I'm just trying to stay out of everyone's way," said Norris.

McLaren race engineer Will Joseph initially rejected the driver's pit entry strategy and managed the final radio communications during the in-lap.

"No, you're not," said Joseph.

The pit wall explicitly directed Norris to prioritize regulatory compliance over celebrating with fans at his dedicated grandstand at Stowe corner.

"So, Lando, it's a bit cr*p for the Lando Stand, but there's no overtaking on this in lap.

And if other people do, it doesn't matter. You don't," said Joseph.

Joseph reminded the driver to focus on standard tire management procedures as they returned to the pit lane.

"And pickup, please," said Joseph.

The engineering team reinforced the necessity of following standard operational protocols regardless of actions taken by surrounding competitors.

"You just do the right thing," said Joseph.
