Emergency crews responded to the scene to isolate an onboard fault on the affected train.

National Rail and West Midlands Railway confirmed that all lines through the station were temporarily blocked before the facility safely reopened to passengers.

Despite the reopening, rail operators warned that residual delays of up to 60 minutes and cancellations would continue until approximately 10:00 AM as timetables recover.

Impacted operators include Avanti West Coast, CrossCountry, West Midlands Railway, London Northwestern Railway, and the Caledonian Sleeper.
