BBC Radio 1 will extend its breakfast show hosted by Greg James by 30 minutes for the summer 2026 schedule.
The change starts Monday, July 20, and runs until Monday, September 7.

The show will air from 7 a. m.
to 11 a. m.
Monday through Thursday instead of the usual 7 a. m.
to 10:30 a. m.
slot.
James said the extra time helps make up for annual leave he took to attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding on July 3.
"I took some last minute days off for a destination wedding I had to go to and I need to make the time up," James said.
He added that 30 extra minutes daily over the summer seemed like a good plan.

James also spoke about his future at the station. "I feel incredibly lucky to still be on Radio 1," he said.
"It takes a long time to get to the breakfast show, so I want to make sure that when I leave, it’s the exact right time."
Schedule Adjustments and Festival Coverage
Station head Aled Haydn Jones said the shift matches seasonal audience patterns.
"Our younger listeners’ routines change over the summer, so it only makes sense that we’d adjust things too," he said.
The extension pushes Rickie Haywood-Williams, Melvin Odoom, and Charlie Hedges to an 11 a. m.
start on weekdays. On Fridays, Nat O'Leary and Vicky Hawkesworth will host Radio 1 Anthems from 10 a.
m. to 11 a.
