The next-generation BMW 3-Series has been spotted with more revealing camouflage, showcasing a design that borrows heavily from the electric i3 sedan.

This M350 performance variant, codenamed G50, is expected to arrive later this year and features quad exhausts, chunky wheels, and aggressive aero hardware.

Design and Platform

BMW has stripped heavy camouflage from the bumpers, revealing i3-style headlights linked by a slimmer kidney grille and large cooling intakes.

The profile retains the familiar greenhouse with the Hofmeister kink, but flush door handles and production LED taillights mark it as a new generation.

Unlike the i3, which rides on the Neue Klasse architecture, the new 3-Series stays on an updated version of the CLAR platform, ensuring traditional rear-wheel-drive proportions with a longer hood and greater rear overhang.

Interior and Technology

Inside, the new 3-Series is expected to adopt the i3's Neue Klasse tech, including a 17.9-inch infotainment screen, a pillar-to-pillar lower windshield display, an optional 3D head-up unit, configurable ambient lighting, and a four-spoke steering wheel.

Powertrain Options

The lineup will include gasoline, diesel, mild-hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains, with rear-wheel drive and xDrive all-wheel drive options.

The 330 model will feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four producing around 260 hp, while the M350 shown here runs a hotter version of the B58 3.0-liter turbo inline-six reportedly clearing 400 hp, up from the current M340's 386 hp.

An eight-speed automatic transmission is expected as standard, though it remains unclear if BMW will offer both rear-drive and xDrive versions of the M350 or stick to all-wheel drive only.

The range-topping combustion-powered M3 will arrive later, featuring a mild-hybrid twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine.

Launch Timeline

BMW has not officially confirmed a launch date, but production is reportedly set to begin in November 2026, with a possible debut before the end of the year.

A Touring version for both the i3 and the gas 3-Series has been confirmed, though its availability in the US remains uncertain and may be limited to the M3.
